Analyst Says Saturn Should Add Microvan to Lineup

Opel Meriva Concept

Jim Hall, managing director of 2953 Analytics, thinks Saturn should add a microvan – similiar to the Opel Meriva concept shown on the right – to its lineup. The Meriva was unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show this year. What do you think? Vote in the poll and then post your thoughts.

Saturn should consider adding the Meriva microvan as it continues to flesh out its model lines with vehicles developed by GM's Opel unit in Europe, suggests Jim Hall, managing director of 2953 Analytics, a Birmingham consultant and forecasting company. Saturn will add a subcompact model, GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz has said. It's been widely expected that would be the Corsa hatchback around 2011, but Hall says the Meriva, which boasts a very large interior and unique looks, is a better bet. The Meriva measures just 159.4 inches long, 8 inches shorter than a Scion xB. Both vehicles will be based on GM's Gamma architecture, which will produce subcompacts built and sold around the world.
