Florida Saturn Owner Turns Her Ion in an "Obama Car"

With less than one week left before those of us in the United States vote to elect a new President, things are getting a little interesting - err, expressive - all over America. Emotions are running high among supporters of both Republican candidate John McCain and Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama.

Nowhere is this more evident than on the streets south of St. Petersburg, Florida. That's where author Wayne Garcia ran into Jennifer Stone-Anderson, "a 51-year-old artist who is out of work and had two months on her hands to paint an elaborate mural on her 2004 Saturn Ion touting the candidacy of Barack Obama," he wrote on the Creative Loafing blog. "Stone-Anderson said she painted the white Ion with acrylics she had leftover at home, on and off, weather permitting, for two months." Photos of her decorated car are online here.

Regardless of whether you agree with her political views, or share her eye for art, you have to admit that the resulting mural on wheels shows dedication, commitment, and a lot of raw emotion. So what do you think? Post your comments by clicking the link below, and then cast your vote for who you want to be the next President of the United States in this week's SaturnFans.com community poll.

Its new curved and sculpted look, a severe departure from old, hints at European inspiration and upscale flavor. The new Vue Green Line is decently equipped in standard trim as was our tester, with enough amenities to make a long trip comfortable--but without whiz bang.
