Opel Insignia Hatchback Spied During Testing

Leftlane News has spy photos of the upcoming Opel Insignia hatchback, which is expected to be unveiled this summer in London. While the Insignia sedan will be built in the U.S. and sold in North America as the Saturn Aura, industry analysts don't expect this model to make its way onto our shores, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. Saturn is reportedly looking into the possibility of offering more than just a sedan version of the next-generation Aura. If you were Saturn, what would you do? Review the results of a recent SaturnFans.com survey.

Look closely — this is not the Opel Insignia sedan (a.k.a. Saturn Aura) that was recently unveiled. Rather, it's an all-new version — a five-door hatchback. Besides the fact that we’ve seen this test vehicle with the hatch wide open, you'll also notice the rear window is longer — and the 'trunk' is shorter. Also, take note of the typical hatchback rear-window wiper – something we haven’t seen on the sedan. As noted, the Insignia sedan will come to North America as the new Saturn Aura sedan. So far, there has been no word yet as to whether Saturn will bring this hatchback version to the States an another Aura variant.
