Freep: Next Saturn Aura to be Offered as Sedan Only

Tags:

The Detroit Free Press reported in an article published last week that Saturn plans to offer only a sedan version of it's next-gen Aura midsize car. There was speculation that the upcoming Aura, which will be heavily based on the new Opel Insignia, would be offered in sedan, hatchback, and wagon versions.

Opel's Insignia midsize car comes in three body styles, but the U.S. version, which should go on sale as the Saturn Aura in two or three years, will get only a traditional sedan. That means we'll miss what may be the most attractive version, the Insignia station wagon, but we are protected from the least comely, a busy-looking hatchback.
