Spy Video: Next-Generation Astra Caught at Nürburgring

The folks at WorldCarFans.com have some impressive video of the next-generation Opel Astra zooming around the world-famous Nürburgring track in Germany. Opel Astra is expected to make its debut at the Geneva Auto Show with the Saturn version unveiled shortly thereafter as a 2010 or 2011 model.

Testing for the next generation Opel Astra is well under way and we have the video to prove it. The footage above shows a testing prototype burning rubber on the Nurburgring circuit although you will have to excuse the irritating disguise. The five-door prototype caught shows the model’s sloping roof line plus the trapezoidal-shaped c-post resulting in a somewhat sleeker and more elegant appearance. The front fascia is to receive a complete overhaul with the grille looking similar to that of the Insignia whereas the rest appears to take more unique appearance. The rear will get a new huge bumper and redesigned taillights.
