Spied! Next-Generation Astra Inside and Out

Leftlane News has amassed a rather sizable collection of next-generation Astra spy photos. At this point though, automotive blog reports that there is "no word on when the next Saturn Astra will hit U.S. shores." We do know, however, that GM will build the compact hatchback somewhere in North America to avoid suffering from any adverse changes in the exchange rate. So since it might be a little while, follow the link below to peruse the aforementioned gallery of pictures and read their commentary about what they think might be in store for the new model.

The next Astra will ride on GM's new Delta II platform and will likely share GM's new turbo 1.4L, which will also see duty in the Chevrolet Volt and Cruze. Despite the car's irritating disguising, the new profile, the front fascia and the massive rear bumper with the parted taillights are yet visible. While we can't say anything to the shape of the three-door model yet, it seems to be clear the five-door version will again get the current models sloping roof line plus the trapezoidal-shaped c-post — as previewed in GM's latest teaser shots. All in all, however, the new car looks somewhat sleeker and yet more elegant.

Fabulous! Winner of 'Project Runway 5' Will Receive a 2009 Saturn Vue Hybrid

Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn in Project Runway

My wife is so excited! One of her favorite television shows, Project Runway, is set to return for its fifth season tonight on NBC's Bravo cable network. She's been a huge fan since the show began, and admittedly, as a result of some good product placement, I am now too. You see Saturn is a huge sponsor and supporter of Project Runway. Up until a day or two ago, things had been pretty quiet about the upcoming season, but the show's fans – including my wife – have been counting down the days to the start of Season 5... much like how Saturn fans look forward to the launch of a new model.
