General Motors announced today that the company will extend it's popular 100th anniversary employee pricing sale until the end of September. The sale "helped drive additional showroom traffic and our dealers are giving us some very enthusiastic feedback," said Mark LaNeve, vice president of GM North America Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing. "We had our best sales month so far in 2008." As a result, he said GM "added 19 additional 2009 models to the eligible list of vehicles because our 2008 stock on dealer lots is rapidly disappearing." Among the 2009 models added today were the Saturn Aura sedan, Outlook crossover, and Sky roadster. All 2008 of Saturn's models were that were previously part of the employee pricing and cash back promotion are still included, but sources tell SaturnFans.com that the '08 Outlook will now be available with $1000 incentive.

Check Saturn's website for specific pricing information.

In addition, incentives have been added through September 30th for customers who currently lease a vehicle. All current lessees (GM or competitor) with leases ending on or before January 3, 2009 will receive purchase bonus cash towards a new GM vehicle. This additional purchase bonus cash will not be restricted to GMAC or Chase customers and it can be combined with other cash offers. All 2008 model year Saturns will receive $2,000 cash back in addition to current offers; discounts on 2009 vehicles will vary by model. Consult your retailer for additional details.

2009 Vue 2 Mode Green Line Hybrid

John Matras from the Auto Review Examiner: General Motors wants you to know that the 2009 Saturn Vue 2 Mode Hybrid is the "world's most fuel-efficient V-6 SUV." That's the glass half full. The other half of the glass is that the Saturn Vue 2 Mode Hybrid is, in our view, the world's most powerful fuel-efficient compact SUV. So forget about the old half-full/half-empty conundrum. The Saturn Vue 2 Mode Hybrid is a glass full to the brim. It's the first smaller-vehicle application of the two-mode hybrid technology developed as a joint project between GM, Chrysler and BMW.
