Riddle Me This... a 2009 Saturn Teaser

Saturn posted a cryptic message on its ImSaturn blog yesterday, teasing readers about a future announcement that's either related to the brand's 2009 models or an initiative that Saturn plans to roll out next year.

'09 Saturn Start of Production Dates

General Motors' Canadian Fleet and Commercial website has published a tentative schedule reflecting the company's planned changeover to 2009 models. The start of production dates for all Saturn models, except the Astra compact hatchback, have been listed. Build dates for the '09 Saturn Astra are unknown at this time, but they will be posted when they become available.

Production of '09 Saturn Outlooks Start in June

Car and Driver reports that Saturn will changeover production of its eight-passenger Outlook crossover utility to new 2009 models in June. Among the changes is a new 3.6L V6 powerplant with direction injection (DI) that will reportedly deliver some terrific fuel economy figures.

Saturn officials confirmed last month plans to build a large crossover sport wagon in 2006. The long-rumored "big brother" to the Vue will be the first vehicle based on GM's new Lambda architecture. The Lambda architecture will be the basis for all future GM large sport wagons and minivans.
