New Vues, Astra to Debut in Chicago

SaturnFans.com hears that there could be some surprises in store for those planning to attend the Chicago Auto Show next month. In addition to the previously documented unveiling of the 2008 Astra – Saturn's Ion small car replacement – the company will also reportedly take the wraps off its next-generation Vue Red Line model.

Saturn Astra to Join Lineup in Late 2007

Saturn confirmed today that it will add the Astra compact car to its lineup late in 2007, marking an important stage in its product revitalization plan. When the 2008 Astra joins the Sky, Aura, Outlook and all-new Vue, no Saturn will have been in the market more than 20 months, giving the brand one of the freshest product lineups in the industry.

Saturn will offer a nearly identical version of the new Opel Astra beginning late next year. More information about the Saturn Astra will be available during the 2007 Chicago Auto Show in February. No additional information about which features described below will be offered on Saturn's version have been provided.

'08 Saturn Vue to be Unveiled in November

GM confirmed via its FastLane blog yesterday that the company plans to unveil its all-new 2008 Saturn Vue at the 2006 Greater Los Angeles Auto Show next month. The show opens to the press on November 29th. The new Vue will be virtually identical to the Opel Antara, shown in the picture above, that was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last week.

Saturn Astra Set for 2007 Debut

Bob Lutz, General Motors' vice chairman for global product development, has high hopes for Saturn. The GM executive told Automotive News in a recent interview that was published this week that Saturn will be his company's hottest brand this year. Even though Chevrolet will experience the more growth in terms on the number of vehicles sold, Lutz told the magazine that among GM's eight brands, Saturn will have the largest "rapid overall percentage expansion."

Production-Ready Opel Antara Provides Preview of 'Real' 2008 Vue

Last week General Motors' Opel division unveiled a new SUV that industry sources say provides a good indication of what the "real" 2008 Saturn Vue will look like.

2008 Vue Spied During Testing

Last September SaturnFans.com reported that General Motors was planning on Saturnizing the upcoming Opel Antara GTC sport-utility as its replacement for the current Vue in the 2008 model year. Earlier today, Edmunds.com's Inside Line website posted what looks to be the first spy photos of the next-generation Saturn Vue.
